The Artist is Dead: A Career Change in Two Acts

So this is my story (er, stories, rather…)


For about 15 years, I was a working professional opera singer -- and now I am a technologist who sings on the side.

Ironically this change wasn’t prompted by the pandemic (though that sure helped it along).

So I've written a pair of Medium articles, subtitled "A Career Change in Two Acts." Act I is the journey; Act II is what I learned.

Arts and humanities people: I wrote this for you so that you could have a sense of what the tech world might have to offer you.

And, my fellow technologists and biz people in tech: I wrote this also for you so that you can get a taste of what artists and humanities folks can bring to the table in tech. Musicians and theater people are some of the fiercest, best people you'll ever hire. :-)
